Product Description
BCX Cross Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower
The BCX has the largest cooling capacity in a single cell of any closed-loop system and provides the added value of reduced operating costs ,improved reliability, and a cost-effective solution to both the end of user and the installing contractor for large projects.
The BCX Series Cross Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower by HACST Cooling is an advanced cooling solution that integrates water and air heat exchange in a closed-loop system. Designed with efficiency, durability, and ease of maintenance in mind, this model ensures consistent cooling performance for a wide range of industrial and HVAC applications.
The BCX series adopts a cross-flow air design where ambient air enters horizontally across the heat exchange coil while spray water flows vertically. This design enhances heat transfer efficiency and simplifies maintenance. The closed-loop system effectively isolates the process fluid from external contamination, ensuring cleaner operation and stable thermal performance throughout the year.
The coil is fabricated from high-quality seamless copper, stainless steel, or galvanized steel tubes, offering superior corrosion resistance and a long lifespan. Each coil undergoes strict pressure and leakage testing to guarantee reliable operation. A high-efficiency PVC heat exchange fill further improves cooling capacity while maintaining low water resistance.
- Excellent heat exchange performance
- Easy to maintain and repair
- Modular design, easy installation.
- Water-saving
- Sloped pool design
- Process Fluid Circulation: Warm process fluid from your system enters the inlet and travels through a series of internal heat exchanger coils.
- External Water Spray: Cool spray water is pumped from the bottom basin and continuously showered over the outside of these closed coils.
- Cross Flow Heat Exchange: A mechanical fan draws outside air horizontally across the falling spray water at a 90° angle (perpendicular flow). As the air crosses the water, a small portion of the spray water evaporates, which draws substantial heat away from the coils.
- Fluid Cooling & Return: Because of this evaporative heat rejection, the process fluid inside the sealed coil cools down and returns to your equipment. The heated spray water falls back into the basin to be cooled and recirculated, while the hot, humid air is expelled out the top of the tower.
1. What is a crossflow closed circuit cooling tower?
A crossflow closed circuit cooling tower is a type of evaporative cooling equipment where air flows horizontally across the heat exchange coil while spray water flows downward from the top. The process fluid circulates inside a sealed coil, so it does not directly contact the outside air or spray water.
This design helps keep the process fluid clean, reduces contamination risk, and provides reliable cooling for HVAC, industrial process cooling, data centers, injection molding, compressors, and other applications.
2. What is the difference between a crossflow and counterflow closed circuit cooling tower?
In a crossflow closed circuit cooling tower, air flows horizontally across the coil and spray water. In a counterflow closed circuit cooling tower, air flows upward against the downward spray water.
Crossflow towers usually offer easier maintenance, lower air resistance, and convenient access to internal components. Counterflow towers are often more compact and suitable for projects with limited floor space.
3. What applications are suitable for crossflow closed circuit cooling towers?
Crossflow closed circuit cooling towers are widely used in HVAC systems, chillers, data centers, injection molding machines, air compressors, chemical plants, steel processing, industrial furnaces, power equipment, and general process cooling systems.
They are suitable for both commercial and industrial projects where stable water temperature and clean circulation are important.
4. How do I select the right model?
To select the right crossflow closed circuit cooling tower, you need to provide the heat load, process fluid flow rate, inlet temperature, outlet temperature, wet bulb temperature, fluid type, installation location, power supply, and material requirements.
For industrial projects, additional information such as altitude, water quality, site layout, noise limits, and operating hours may also affect the final selection.
5. What information is needed for a quotation?
For an accurate quotation, please provide the required cooling capacity, fluid flow rate, inlet and outlet temperature, local wet bulb temperature, fluid type, power supply, preferred materials, installation site, and any special requirements such as low noise, anti-corrosion design, or limited installation space.
